Tonny Bastiaans

Tonny Bastiaans is currently working as European product manager for IBM Power. His whole IBM career, 20 years plus, he has been working with Power or their precursors ( RS6000, AS400, P systems, I systems). First as an engineer, later as pre-sales consultant and currently as product manager. Part of this is actively promoting Power towards customers, business partners and IBMers.

Yvonne Enselman

Yvonne Enselman is the Director of Professional Services at iTech Solutions and she is based in Chicago, IL. She started working with the IBM i Platform (AS/400, iSeries) in 1996 holding positions including programmer/analyst, B2B coordination, and instructor. Since 2005 she has focused on quality assurance and project management bringing certifications in these areas to the technical disciplines of the traditional IBM i professional. She is a passionate advocate of the system volunteering in myriad ways such as serving as a director for professional associations (COMMON, OMNI), speaking, writing, blogging, teaching, and mentorship.


Scott Forstie

Scott Forstie is a Senior Technical Staff Member within IBM i development and spends most of his time working as the Db2 for i Business Architect. He has worked on IBM operating system development since joining IBM in 1989.

Scott is a frequently published author, speaker at industry events around the globe and can be found @Forstie_IBMi and forstie@us.ibm.com. Scott is an avid runner and enjoys cooking.

Joshua Hall

Josh Hall is a passionate advocate of Open Source Software. He advocates for open source by providing education, training, and development through his business, SoBored. In addition, Josh spreads open source knowledge by giving labs and presentations at conferences and user groups.

In his spare time, Josh enjoys going on walks with his dog Gideon, playing billiards, camping, watching horror films, and listening to hip-hop.


Birgitta Hauser

Birgitta Hauser graduated with a business economics diploma and started programming on the AS/400 in 1992. She is an experienced RPG programmer as well as a database and software engineer, focusing on IBM i application and database modernization. Today, she is an independent consultant on application and database modernization on IBM i and Db2 for i.

Birgitta also works in education as a trainer for RPG and SQL developers. Since 2002, she has been a frequent speaker at COMMON user groups meetings and other IBM i and Power conferences in Germany, other European countries, the United States, and Canada. In addition, she is co-author of two IBM Redbooks and has also authored several articles and papers focusing on RPG and SQL for the ITP Verlag (a German publisher), IT Jungle Guru, and IBM DeveloperWorks.

She received the John Earl Speaker Scholarship Award in 2015, the Al Barsa Memorial Scholarship Award in 2018, and was named an IBM Champion in 2021.

Simon Hutchinson

I am an IT professional with over 30 years' experience with the IBM i, and its former forms.
I first started as a programmer with the IBM System/36, and soon moved to programming on the AS/400.

I have worked in various positions as a programmer/analyst, freelance consultant, and am currently an IT Manager.
During those years I have used all flavors of RPG from RPG II, on System/36, to RPG for i (totally free format RPG), on IBM i, CL, SQL, and a whole variety of IBM i based tools.

I started my IT career in the United Kingdom, before emigrating to the USA.


Doug Mack

Doug Mack is a DB2 for i Analytics Consultant in IBM’s Power Systems Lab Services organization, employed by IBM in the United States. Doug currently leads the Analytics team for the DB2 for i Lab Services team delivering Query/400 modernization, DB2 Web Query, Data Warehouse design, skills transfer, and implementation guidance services worldwide.

Doug is a regular speaker at customer events including COMMON, IBM Technical Conferences and Executive Briefings, and has written many articles and white papers on the attributes of DB2 for i for analytics.

Dawn May

Dawn May is a leading authority on IBM i performance management, work management, systems management, and general system diagnostics. She has in-depth knowledge of the IBM i operating system developed through her distinguished career with IBM.

A former IBMer, Dawn is now an independent consultant, assisting companies with system performance reviews and recommendations. She also teaches clients on the latest IBM i tools to enable them to get the most out of their IBM i systems.

Kent Milligan

Kent Milligan is a Senior Db2 for i Consultant in the IBM Lab Services Power Systems Delivery Practice.  Kent has over 25 years of experience as a Db2 for IBM i consultant and developer working out of the IBM Rochester lab. Prior to re-joining the DB2 for i Lab Services practice in 2020, Kent spent 5 years working on healthcare solutions powered by IBM Watson technologies. Kent is a sought-after speaker and author on Db2 for i & SQL topics.

Mike Pavlak

Mike Pavlak has been working with IBM midrange solutions since 1992 and IBM Mainframes before that. After years of developing applications using RPG, CL and PHP he managed IT development and IT for power protection manufacturer Tripp Lite. Later Mike was instrumental in developing the adoption of PHP as a primary solution for web development on IBM i working with Zend Technologies. Today, as Solutions Engineer with Perforce, Mike helps companies around the world approach the challenges of modernization and open source technologies. In addition to several roles as a volunteer with COMMON the premier IBM midrange user group, Mike also teaches PHP & Python classes part time at Moraine Valley Community College in Suburban Chicago. Mike lives in suburban Chicago with his wife, five kids, dog, cat, Russian tortoise, and a half dozen fish.

Marina Schwenk

Marina started her career in January 2015 at Everbrite LLC in Greenfield WI after graduating from Gateway Technical College in May of 2014 with an Associate’s degree in IT Software Development.

Marina works as a developer in both RPG and Java and she also is one of two IBM i admins at Everbrite. Marina earned her Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems Software Development from Bellevue University in June of 2017. Marina is currently the vice president for the Wisconsin Midrange Computer Professional Association(WMCPA) users group, a member of COMMON’s Young i Professionals (Yips) committee, a member of COMMON America Advisory Council (CAAC), a private tutor in English and Programming for students at an associates or bachelor’s degree level, a public speaker on topics ranging from RPG, SQL standards and unit testing, and was named a IBM fresh face for 2019.

She has also completed two open source projects the first is logging in RPG and IBMiUnit, a RPG unit testing framework.
