Volunteer Position Job Descriptions

Speaker Assistants

Want to volunteer and enhance your COMMON conference experience, but not sure where to begin? Try becoming a Speaker Assistant. Volunteering as a Speaker Assistant is a commitment of only one session at a time. Volunteer for as few or as many as you are comfortable with. A Speaker Assistant performs several invaluable tasks:

  • Introduces the speaker
  • Works with the speaker and session monitor to assure the session runs smoothly.

Do you have a fear of speaking in front of a group? Become a Speaker Assistant, improve your confidence and see, after a while, how much easier it becomes to speak up at the weekly department meeting.

If you have sessions you're going to attend anyway, why not volunteer as a Speaker Assistant for those sessions? Become a part of the COMMON volunteer family, get to know at least one speaker better and do it with a minimal commitment on your part.

To sign up as a Speaker Assistant at the next COMMON conference, you can e-mail volexcellence@common.org.
