WORKSHOP 1: Systems Management

The IBM i systems administration workshop will cover many of the key topics that system administrators must understand to keep IBM i running at peak efficiency. We will focus on maintenance items that are often ignored by administrators.

 

 


 

 

WORKSHOP 2: Where Do I Start to Use Embedded SQL?

Speaker: Ted Holt

$345 for Members; $395 for non-Members

 

This session is designed for the developer who would like to embed SQL in application programs, but isn't sure where to start. The session begins with the syntax of embedded SQL, but quickly moves beyond syntax into practice. The instructor shows how to develop robust applications with embedded SQL, and also shows when native I/O provides a better way to go. Examples use RPG, but the concepts are applicable to other high-level languages.

 

Learning objectives:

1. Learn how to embed SQL commands in RPG programs.

2. Learn effective ways to use embedded SQL.

3. Understand common mistakes and how to avoid them.
