Read about and submit a *NEW* SESSION to COMMON Directions and/or the Annual Meeting

COMMON Directions is a two-day conference of 1.25 and/or 2.75 hour sessions. There are no all-day workshops being offered, and no labs or open labs. Speakers are paid a fee plus expenses via contract agreement with COMMON. The speaker fee is $1500 based on doing 5 sessions. The fee will be prorated for fewer than 5 sessions, and expenses will still be covered. During the selection process, preference will be given to speakers who can do multiple sessions.

The Annual Meeting is COMMON's traditional five-day conference. Eligible speakers earn one COMMON Credit per 1.25 session or lab they present, which can be used to offset expenses. If the submission is accepted, the speaker(s) must become a member of COMMON.

If you are submitting a *NEW* 1.25 or 2.75 hour session, you may submit to both COMMON Directions and the Annual Meeting all at once. Click here for an example session submission.

Deadline for Annual Meeting submissions: Sunday, August 31, 2008
Deadline for COMMON Directions is closed.

This form will also allow you to submit a lab or open lab to the Annual Meeting.

  • Labs at the Annual Meeting are hands-on and can be 1.25 or 2.75 hours in length. Attendees stay from start to end. Eligible speakers earn one COMMON Credit per 1.25 hours, which can be applied to expenses per the Speaker Benefits Guidelines. If the submission is accepted, the speaker(s) must become a member of COMMON.
  • Open labs at the Annual Meeting are hands-on and work-at-your-own-pace for the attendees. Attendees may come and go while speakers are at hand to offer assistance. Open labs are 2.75 hours. Eligible speakers earn one COMMON Credit per 1.25 hours, which can be applied to expenses per the Speaker Benefits Guidelines. If the submission is accepted, the speaker(s) must become a member of COMMON.
