Session Material Guidelines

All session material (presentation slides and handouts) must comply with COMMON's Code of Ethics, and the Conference Offerings Policy. Click on the links to read these policies:

COMMON requests that you follow these guidelines in preparing session handouts:

  • Session material is required in PDF (.pdf) format. Click here for instructions for printing to PDF.
  • Limit file size to 15MB per file.
  • 4Ups are not required, but if you prefer, here are instructions for formatting PDFs into 4Ups.
  • The default format will be 2-up unless otherwise stated in the copy center instructions.
  • The session material cover page should be portrait, at least 12 point in size, and in Arial font.
  • The session material cover page should include the following information:
    • Speaker Name
    • Session Title
    • 6-digit Session ID#
    • Day/Room/Hour
    • Copyright
    • Internet/Web address
    • Company Name
    • Company Logo
    • Company/Home Fax Number
    • Company/Home Phone Number
    • Company/Home address
  • Number the pages of your session material in 12 point size at the bottom right corner of the page.
  • Use a white background with black text.
  • PowerPoint material should include 2 slides per page. (Screen captures may have less slides per page.)
  • If program/source listings are included in your session material and it is your normal business practice to include copyright information with the listing, a copyright statement may be included on one or more pages of the material. Place the copyright in small type in the lower left corner of the page(s).
  • If you place a disclaimer on your session material stating it cannot be reproduced, you must include a letter granting COMMON permission to reproduce the material for distribution to COMMON's members. COMMON will use and distribute the intellectual property submitted by speakers only as specifically granted to COMMON.
