The Modernization Meal

Speaker(s):
Christopher F. Burns GEMKO Information Group

(a.k.a. "Burgers, Subs & Pumpkin Pie")

This topic bucks mainstream assumptions and trends regarding application modernization. Hopefully the attendees didn't skip lunch, because we use everyone's favorite topic (food) to help illustrate how and why modernization should be a process of ongoing improvement (POOGI) instead of a big bang.

Using the tools you already own, which ship with each iSeries system, you can architect a POOGI which will deliver a constant flow of real business benefits without the disruption you may have come to expect. As always, expect some unexpected turns of events and points of view. Plus an in depth look at a live solution concept. Hopefully it will be an eye opener.

By the end of this session, attendees will be able to:
1. View modernization as an enterprise wide opportunity instead of an IT project.
2. Understand the merits of a process of ongoing improvement (POOGI).
3. Make a more compelling argument to management to modernize.
