session
we
will
identify
SOA
components
for
an
SOA
solution,
identify
Open
Source
tools
for
each
of
the
components
and
build
a
simple
SOA
Employee/
Human
Resources
solution
using
these
open
source
components.
Some
familiarity
with
SOA
concepts
is
required.
SOA
Server
solutions
will
be
built
around
Websphere
Application
Server
-
Community
Edition.
As
part
of
WASCE
we
will
use:
ActiveMQ
for
message
serving,
Tomcat
for
application
serving,
Cloudscape
for
DB
serving
and
Axis
for
web
services.
SOA
client
applications
will
be
built
using:
RPGLE
-
A
simple
employee
hiring
program.
Freemarker
servlet
-
A
simple
applicant
entry
program.
VB.Net
-
A
simple
employee
benefits
program
AJAX
-
A
simple
status
monitoring
application.
All
of
these
application
will
focus
on
code
reuse
and
web
services
to
promote
interoperability.
By
the
end
of
this
session,
attendees
will
be
able
to:
1.
Identify
the
open
source
tools
currently
available.
2.
Identify
SOA
components
needed
for
a
solution.
3.
Create
an
SOA
solution
using
Open
Source
Tools.
