Data Warehousing 301: Implementing The Solution - A Customer's Experience

Speaker(s):
Bruce Ullrey Rumpke Consolidated Companies

Most seasoned business computer professionals already have the majority of the skills necessary to implement an efficient and effective BI system. They just need a "jump start" to get organized. This session will present implementation steps that were used to successfully bring a BI system to a $300,000,000 regional waste hauling company. The session will present process steps starting with establishing SDLC and Project Management processes and progressing through building business models, defining metric requirements, sourcing the data, purchase and installation of a BI toolset, building the data warehouse, building the data marts, building the initial OLAP templates, training users and deploying the toolset. The attendee should leave the session with a clear idea of how to get started developing and implementing a BI system.
