ILE Change Management and Version Control

Speaker(s):
Mark S. Waterbury Industrial Strength Software

This session will discuss the issues surrounding change management and version control as it pertains to the IBM OS/ 400 Integrated Language Environment (ILE)

Many iSeries shops have started to really dive into ILE development, but are finding that their traditional change management tools for their "native" OS/ 400 objects and source code do not always work very well with the ILE program model, where *PGMs and *SRVPGMs are composed of multiple *MODULEs, and you also have to consider binding, and binding directories, etc. Come and learn about change management and version control as it pertains to ILE, and learn some techniques and APIs you can use to help smooth the way to integrating your ILE development projects with your current change management and version control tools.

By the end of this session, attendees will:
1. Understand change management for ILE.
2. Understand version control for ILE.
3. Learn techniques you can apply in your shop.
