APIs (Application Program Interfaces)

APIs provide a different solution to interfacing to system functions. Instead of the traditional command interface, APIs use a call level interface. This session is designed for those beginning and intermediate level users who are interested in learning what APIs are all about, how to find the one you want, and how to code a basic API. CL and RPG solutions will be shown to perform typical functions. A few tools from the TAA Productivity Tools product will be shown which assist or perform API function.

By the end of this session, attendees will be able to:
1. Understand what APIs are.
2. Locate a specific API.
3. Do some basic coding.
