Patrick S. Botz
Pat Botz has a varied support and development background from BASIC compilers, CAD/ CAM/ CAE, OS/ 2 WARP, to security. In addition to working on and leading OS/ 400 and i5/ OS security architecture for eight years, Pat's experience includes 12 years of UNIX software development and support. After spending two years in the IBM eServer development organization where he was responsible for security in Virtualization Engine R2, Pat spent two plus years in the IBM Lab Services organization where he was responsible for building the IBM Lab services Security Architecture and Consulting practice focusing on integrating i- and zSeries platform security into various network environments and compliance requirements. Pat recently formed Group8 Security, Inc., where he is Vice President of Security Consulting. Pat is a frequently published author and world-wide speaker on the subject of information security. He is a co-author of book, "Experts Guide to OS/ 400 and i5/ OS security," with Carol Woodbury.
