Abstract:
The
adoption
of
PHP
in
i5/
OS
provides
the
ability
to
develop
customized
web
applications
that
provide
dynamic
content
hosted
on
i5/
OS,
including
DB2
data
and
native
i5/
OS
resources.
Along
with
MySQL,
these
two
open
community
technologies
provide
the
ability
to
implement
an
open
community
based
web
development
and
deployment
stack
to
facilitate
the
deployment
of
cutting-edge
open
community
solutions,
such
as
customer
relationship
management
(CRM),
wiki(s),
blogs,
bulletin-boards,
etc.
This
workshop
will
give
you
an
opportunity
to
become
familiar
with
both
PHP
and
MySQL.
The
first
section
will
focus
on
PHP
and
the
ability
to
use
PHP
to
develop
web
applications
leveraging
i5/
OS
resources.
The
second
section
will
look
at
MySQL:
how
to
install
it
in
i5/
OS
and
how
to
setup/
configure
open
community
applications
in
i5/
OS.
The
format
of
the
workshop
will
be
both
lecture
and
hands-on
and
you
will
be
provided
with
opportunities
to
develop
customized
PHP
applications
as
well
as
implement
open
community
solutions.
