session
explores
ways
to
collect
database
monitor
data
and
shows
practical
methods
to
analyze
the
trace
data.
The
presentation
will
include
slides
to
explain
the
layout
and
elements
of
the
trace
files
and
discuss
methods
for
direct
analysis
as
well
as
transforming
it
into
a
datamart
type
of
schema
for
faster
and
easier
analysis.
It
talks
about
different
approaches
to
analyzing
the
data:
-
Top
Down
approach
that
can
be
effectively
used
to
drill
down
from
a
System
or
Application
point
of
view
to
focus
on
key
bottle
necks
and
how
to
correct
them.
-
Bottom
up
approach
where
it
looks
for
queries
that
are
in
general
long
running
or
troublesome
and
drill
up
to
arrive
at
applications,
etc.
By
the
end
of
this
session,
attendees
