This hands-on lab guides attendees through the steps required to create a web service from a 5250 based RPG program using looksoftware’s SOArchitect.

After installing soarchitect, attendees will learn how existing programs (and new programs) can be used to create web services interface for iSeries applications. By service enabling existing applications, iSeries customers and software vendors can create a set of service interfaces to their existing applications enabling standardized access to business partners and other applications, improving reuse and flexibility.

By the end of this session, attendees will be able to:
1.Create a web service from an existing iSeries based RPG application.
2.Understand how a monolithic iSeries program can be accessed as a number of services
3.Understand how service enabling existing applications can provide the benefits of SOA
