The COMMON/IBM i5/OS Innovation Awards showcase outstanding client achievements using i5/OS by honoring award winners at the COMMON's Annual Meeting and Exposition.

What is Innovation?
Innovation is a unique combination of people, passion, and technology that help power your business. i5/OS innovation represents the very best solutions available from IBM and the industry – processor, operating systems, applications, database, middleware, networking, security – integrated in a way that helps you simplify your IT, reduce your costs and fuel innovation in your business.

What are the COMMON/IBM i5/OS Innovation Awards?
Several years ago, COMMON and IBM introduced the System i Innovation Awards to recognize, showcase and share clients best practices. This award has been renamed to the COMMON/IBM i5/OS Innovation Awards with the intent to recognize business innovation using i5/OS applications. There are 3 award categories:

Small and Midsized Innovation Award - For companies with under 1,000 employees doing innovative things with i5/OS applications
Large Enterprise Innovation Award - For companies with over 1,000 employees doing innovative things with i5/OS applications
Education Excellence – For colleges or universities that have demonstrated outstanding commitment to the System i community and provide ongoing i5/OS education.

Who is eligible for the COMMON/IBM i5/OS innovation Awards?
IBM clients who use System i technology and i5/OS applications are eligible for these awards. IBM Business Partners are not eligible for these awards but can nominate their clients with permission from the client.

A judging committee will be assigned to each award category and each judging committee will include COMMON Board members and IBM members. The judges will rank and score each nomination based on the following criteria:

Demonstrates business innovation
Supports outstanding achievement
Highlights business value to the company and its end users
Is considered a best practice in the industry
Stands out from the others nominated in the category

What will award winners receive?
Each award winner received a beautiful Tiffany crystal sculpture and the following benefits:

COMMON membership for one year
Up to five complimentary registrations to COMMON conference
One complimentary registration to COMMON IT Executive conference
Feature articles in COMMON Connect Newsletter and IBM System i Edition Magazine, and other press features
