Band of IBMers will rock Closing Event

Don't miss Closing Event on Thursday evening of the conference, when attendees will enjoy some unique Rochester entertainment. The band Royal-T will play rock, oldies, country and some blues. Sing along (song lyrics are provided) and even join in on the tambourine, maracas or cow bells.

All members of Royal-T work or have worked for IBM at the Rochester Lab, so you might see some familiar faces on stage:

  • Bill “Bronco” Rapp: Lead Vocals, Guitar, and Harmonica. Bill has been a programmer for System 3/34/36/iSeries, and is currently Chief Technology Officer for Healthcare and Life Sciences
  • Mike “Bergie” Young: Lead Vocals, Guitar. Bergie, a former programmer/manager on S3/32/34/36 and iSeries, is currently the National Language Translation Release Manager for iSeries.
  • Ken Lynne: Vocals, Keyboard. Ken also worked as a programmer/manager on S3/32/34/36 and iSeries, and is not a Team Leader for LVT (LPAR Validation Tool) development.
  • Paul Mattson: Drums. Paul has been a software engineer, architect and development leader/manager for many hardware and software technologies across several platforms
    including iSeries. He is currently Solution Segment Leader for the area of Basic Research and Discovery including Clinical Genomics for IBM’s emerging Information Based Medicine group.
  • Scott Strand: Bass. Scott has worked as an engineer/manager in various development and procurement organizations, and is now Program Director of Power/Cooling Procurement
    Engineering for all IBM brands.
  • Jackie Olson : Flute. Jackie was a programmer/manager S/36 and iSeries, and used to have Bergie's current job! He's currently Program Director for International Technical Support Organization (ITSO) and Authoring Services.
  • Steve “Scoobs” Skiba : Sound, Vocals. Scoobs is a former IBM iSeries software engineer and works as a Project Manager at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.

Come to the Hilton Grand Ballroom DEFG on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. to hear Royal-T and get one last chance to network at the conference before you head home.
